A blog about the restoration, remodel and renovation of a 1929 Chicago-style brick bungalow

Prairie Dock

Prairie DockAs summer winds down, trying to enjoy what is left in bloom. This is Prairie Dock, Silphium terebinthinaceum, a native Illinois prairie plant.

I was able to start on painting the storm windows a couple days ago, but discovered that the color I chose for the outer frame was too bright so I went back to the store and had them darken it. It’s been too rainy, hot and/or unpredictable to paint any further so that will have to wait until next weekend when it’s cooler.

In the meantime, working on a couple of little indoor projects, so more on those later.

Enjoy your Labor Day!
