A blog about the restoration, remodel and renovation of a 1929 Chicago-style brick bungalow

It’s been a while, but I’m hoping to catch up on all the happenings around here in the next week or so.

Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers and well-wishes for my father-in-law. He is currently in rehab and appears to be slowly improving, although it’s doubtful he’ll be living on his own from this point on, as he so desperately wanted to do. We’re currently exploring options and will hopefully find something that he will be happy with and will also work for the family.

Consequently, we haven’t done much on the house as of late, but since I hadn’t caught up on everything since the contractor left, there’s still plenty to report!

More soon…

Glad to hear that things are, at least, looking up. You never know how things will turn out. I’m sure a good solution will come your way. thoughts and prayers continue.

I’m glad that things are not as bad as feared. My Mom was in rehab and then at home for awhile several times.

I don’t know his circumstances, but one thing that might help is a lifeline type locket that a person can press when in difficulty. Many hospitals run these systems (as opposed to the private companies, some of which are shady and extremely expensive.)
